History, Mission, Vision, and purpose of First Heritage International School.
The idea of formulating an English School for national and international students started in the early 1990’s. It was not until the mid-90’s it became a reality and was named “Rainbow School.”

History
As the years proceeded, she built a reputation among the embassies and the locals. In 2002, Rainbow School had a student body that was made up diplomats from the American, Indonesian, Chinese, Guyanese, Dutch Embassy, and a few very influential Surinamese individuals.
In 2004, she started facing financial difficulties. To combat this financial crisis, the directress decided to partner with P.C. Adventure, a private Dutch school. This posed another issue- students from P.C. Adventure tuition were paid in guilders (at that period) while the students at Rainbow School were paying in US currency. This combination also caused issues between the diplomats and locals. A class division started which led to severe problems.
Because of all the issues, Rainbow School was offered to our academic supervisor- Miss Sheryl Ann Seeram (daughter of present directress Miss Basantie Arjun) who was a teacher at Rainbow School. It was later sold to Miss Arjun with all the issues.
In 2005, Rainbow School started functioning under the new administration – Miss Arjun.
Problems were gradually resolved, and school matters were moved ahead. It was clear to all that the institution was grounded on Biblical principles and was steered by the administrator under God’s blessings. Parents had to realized that Rainbow School was now functioning to its maximum capacity through the administration and not parents.
Rainbow School, under the administration of Miss Arjun grew to be the most successful English Christian School in Suriname. Now, her student body is made up of nationals of over nine different countries.
In 2023, she was renamed to First Heritage International School. Since, the school has grown in numbers causing another issue of not having adequate classroom accommodation. Now there is a need to expand the building.
